As Chief Executive Officer of VISANOW, Robert Meltzer leads his company in the pursuit of revolutionizing immigration and employment compliance process management and improving the legal services experience. After practicing law for 15 years, he realized the potential to streamline the immigration process by using technology and founded VISANOW. For over a decade, VISANOW has helped guide thousands of clients navigate the immigration process in the U.S. and abroad in more than 95 countries.

Robert began his career at the legal office of the United Nations World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, concentrating on public international law, international contracts, and international copyright. Upon returning to the U.S. he entered private practice, continuing to focus on international business law, and then expanding his practice to include immigration law, representing clients on a broad range of immigration issues. Robert has experience in all appellate processes of immigration law and has represented clients before the United States Supreme Court on immigration law issues.

Robert was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law. He furthered his international legal education by receiving certificates and diplomas from the Henri Dunant Institute in Geneva, Switzerland; The Institute de Internationale Droits de L'homme in Strasbourg, France; and the University of Salzburg/McGeorge School of Law in Salzburg, Austria.

Robert is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the International and Immigration Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association (of which he has served as Chair). He is also an author, lecturer and a recent Adjunct Professor of International Law at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law.


Shawn Hope, Esq.Shawn Hope, Immigration Attorney for Immigration Law Firm VISANOW

Shawn Hope brings a great deal of legal expertise in diverse practice areas to the VISANOW Legal Team. This past experience enables him to provide expertise in drafting and distributing immigration practice advisories, researching changes in immigration law and drafting memoranda recommending compliance strategies. Additionally, Shawn composes legal responses to Requests for Evidence, as well as prepares PERM filings and nonimmigrant visa petitions. Shawn also serves as the liaison between the legal and IT departments in order to aid in the constant evolution of the VISANOW's immigration practice.

Shawn received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Business Administration/Pre-law. He studied International Business Transactions and Japanese Legal Systems in Tokyo, Japan.

Shawn is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association.


Caroline Tang, Esq.Caroline Tang, Immigration Attorney for Immigration Law Firm VISANOW

Caroline Tang brings to VISANOW a diverse legal background, including a practical client-side experience that provides her with a unique understanding of our clients' needs. As a human resources liaison for a major global corporation, Caroline was responsible for the acquisition of immigrant and non-immigrant visas for foreign workers. She has also provided pro bono legal services for the National Immigrant Justice Center. This rewarding experience furthered her insight into immigration law and serves her well as she prepares filings, responds to Requests for Evidence, and researches and analyzes immigration laws and statutes.

Caroline received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Northwestern University. While at Boston University, she served as an Editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine and participated in the BU Legislation Clinic. During law school, she also worked as a research assistant at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Caroline is a member of the State Bar of California, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.


Agnes C. Rudinsky, Esq.Agnes C. Rudinsky, Immigration Attorney for Immigration Law Firm VISANOW

Agnes brings to VISANOW a strong legal background in the field of immigration law having practiced exclusively in the area of immigration and nationality law. Agnes's prior experience has been to advise clients on the full range of immigration matters, representing large multinational companies, hospitals, churches, entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and specialized workers on temporary and permanent resident proceedings. Her expertise includes H, E, L, and R nonimmigrant visas, employment based permanent resident, and PERM labor certification. In addition to her business immigration work, she has assisted U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens in successfully bringing their families together through the US immigration application process. This prior experience lends itself well to assisting VISANOW clients needs for filing non-immigrant and immigrant visas, providing legal counsel, and preparing legal responses for Request for Evidence.

Agnes received her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and earned a BA from Wellesley College. In law school, she completed a one-year internship with the Notre Dame Immigration Clinic, which involved conducting intake interviews, and filing adjustment status and U.S. citizenship applications for low income individuals. She also competed in 2003 Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition.

Agnes speaks, reads, and writes Korean fluently.


Ryan Bay, Immigration Attorney for Immigration Law FirmRyan Bay, Esq.

Ryan graduated cum laude from Western State College University of Law in Southern California. While attending law school, he served as an Editor for Western State’s Law Review, as the Treasurer for the Business Law Association, and as a volunteer tax preparer. In addition, Ryan worked as a law clerk for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, as a Clerk at the Orange County Superior Court, and as a law clerk for a Los Angeles firm specializing in Franchise Law.

Before attending law school, Mr. Bay studied the Classics at Monmouth College, graduating cum laude. Ryan was active in numerous student organizations.

Ryan is licensed to practice law in Illinois. He is currently a member of the Chicago-Lincoln American Inn of Court.


Gordie Rosoklija, Esq.

Gordie Rosoklija focuses on a wide range of employment and family-based matters. He is responsible for advising clients, responding to Requests for Evidence, and filing immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions.

In 2009, Gordie competed in the Jessup International Law Competition. He has experience working for Chief U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb and also spent time working for the Wisconsin Department of Justice in Madison, Wisconsin.

Gordie received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. While in law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review and was also a member of the Moot Court Board. He is a cum laude graduate of the College of William & Mary in Virginia. Gordie is licensed to practice law in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin.

Dominic came to VISANOW after 16 years working at the Chicago-based British Consulate General. He completed his career there as a Senior Entry Clearance Officer dealing with UK immigration work as well as providing consular advice and assistance to UK citizens.

Dominic has considerable experience interfacing with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, UK Border Agency, global immigration attorneys and other governmental agencies.

John brings to VISANOW his experience and training in litigation support, debt collection, real estate transactions and contract disputes.

John joined the VISANOW legal team after an eleven-year career with the world’s largest airline. His extensive experience with the pleasures and pitfalls of international travel, and those of temporary assignments abroad, serves as a practical and applicable background for work in the field of immigration law.

John earned a Bachelor’s degree in German Studies from Northwestern University, and a paralegal certificate from DePaul University.

John is a member of the Illinois Paralegal Association, and fluent speaker of the German language.


Candace Savino, Immigration Specialist for Immigration Law FirmCandace Savino, Immigration Specialist

Candace brings avidity and a keen sense of awareness to the role of Immigration Specialist on VISANOW's legal team.

While studying, she worked as the General Manager of the university's radio station, a role that made her comfortable with leadership and organization. After graduating, Candace joined the fast-paced video gaming industry where she wrote content and managed a popular blog.

Candace received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College and is currently pursuing a Paralegal Diploma.

 


G. Luana Macinic, Global Immigration SpecialistLuana Macinic, Global Immigration Specialist for Immigration Law Firm VISANOW

Luana developed an interest in immigration law through several internships and courses while obtaining her undergraduate degree at Loyola University. Prior to joining VISANOW, Luana worked across all aspects of immigration, from removal to asylum (political, religious, etc.), divorce, custody, adoptions, and criminal cases. As a zealous advocate of human rights, she has taught and organized multiple national and regional Model United Nations conferences. Luana represented Germany, South Africa, Switzerland, Pakistan and Libya in an exercise of diplomacy in various committees with more than 5,000 international delegates.

Demonstrating her passion for immigration and global mobility, Luana gained the Global Mobility Specialist distinction. As an avid learner and traveler, she is spending most of her time engaged in furthering her academic education or discovering the practical use of the law throughout the world.

She received a BA in Political Science and International Studies with honors and specialized in History and Communications, aiding her in the fields of global services and mobility.


Alejandra Leon, Global Immigration SpecialistAlejandra Leon, Global Immigration Specialist at Immigration Law Firm VISANOW

Alejandra Leon brings a deep interest in immigration and international affairs to her role as a Global Immigration Specialist. Prior to joining VISANOW, Alejandra interned at the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago for the Department of Protection. She was exposed to various areas of law, such as criminal, civil, and immigration.

Her special interest in the history and politics of Mexico led her to study abroad for three months in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. And she also did extensive research in Mexican Immigration to the U.S. during the twentieth century for her B.A. Thesis. She recently received a scholarship for a Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) preparation class from the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, which will help her in furthering her career in the legal field.

Alejandra received her B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Chicago.


Nicole Cook, Immigration Law Clerk for Immigration Law Firm VISANOWNicole Cook, Immigration Law Clerk

Nicole brings a passionate interest in immigration and foreign policy to her role as Law Clerk. Prior to joining VISANOW, she studied in Beijing, China and Andalucía, Spain. She is an Oxford certified TESOL instructor, and works to demonstrate how essential effective communication is to improving global workforces and mobility.

Nicole was a Research and Development intern at the Euro-Arab Institute Foundation in Granada, Spain, and invested herself in bridging relations between Europe and the Middle East. Through the internship, she worked with a team to organize the 6th Annual Conference on International Security and Defense.

Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Spanish with a minor in Asian Studies from Lake Forest College. She is fluent in Spanish, and speaks conversational Mandarin Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese.

Omer Abbas Salem brings a keen interest in immigration and foreign policy to his law clerking duties. As an Undergrad, he studied African and Middle-Eastern immigration into Paris at the L’ecole Sorbonne while working as a docent at  the Cité Nationale de l’Histoire de l’Immigration.

Abbas received his B.A. in English and B.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (summa cum laude) and a M.S. in Child Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign as well.  He recently finished working with Northwestern University doing research on Down Syndrome infant development.

He speaks conversational French and is certified in Ancient Greek translation.
