VISANOW DELIVERS FOR DIEBOLD DURING H-1B VISA PREPARATION CRUNCH

Leading Immigration Services Provider Offers Accelerated Application Preparation during Critical H-1B Filing Period

CHICAGO, IL Feb. 19, 2008 – With the April 1st filing date looming for filing fiscal year (FY) 2009 H-1B visa petitions, many companies are racing to prepare their applications as required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Leading immigration services provider VISANOW has provided Diebold, a leading global supplier of self-service delivery and security systems, with the advanced immigration service solution the company needs to manage its global hiring needs and navigate critical periods such as H-1B application preparation.

Combining patented technology with legal expertise, VISANOW has expedited the form-intensive H-1B application process, introducing higher levels of proficiency and the ability to handle critical situations at a moment’s notice. Carrie Ball, Diebold’s Senior International Human Resources Representative, witnessed these advanced capabilities firsthand during last year’s H-1B filing period.

Ball received a call from an employee needing to apply for an H-1B visa on a Friday afternoon; the postmark deadline to be accepted in the H-1B lottery was the following morning. Figuring it was probably an impossible situation, Ball contacted VISANOW. “I knew they already had hundreds of H-1B cases, but they said, ‘Let’s try.’ The employee worked in our headquarters so we were able to send all the documents to VISANOW by the end of the day. VISANOW must have worked nonstop, but they submitted the application on time,” recalled Ball.

In 2007, more than twice as many applications for the 65,000 available visas were received on the first day of filing. Following a random selection process conducted by the USCIS, those applications not selected were returned to employers. Without the expedited case preparation and VISANOW’s ability to handle the critical situation at a moment’s notice, Diebold likely would have missed out.

“As H-1Bs are increasingly-time sensitive, companies must prepare petitions early or face drastic consequences, such as increased costs or, worse, losing a crucial addition to the workforce,” said Robert Meltzer, CEO of VISANOW. “The ability to hire highly skilled foreign nationals remains critical for companies that want to compete on a global level.”

Since 1998, VISANOW has helped hundreds of companies file successful H-1B visa applications. VISANOW delivers a technology-based service that streamlines the immigration process for companies and their foreign employees, delivering substantially better levels of responsiveness and higher approval ratings than traditional law firms.
