An Employment Visa is granted to applicants who will be an employee of an Indian company. The application is submitted to the India Embassy or Consulate in the jurisdiction of the applicant’s residence. Upon arrival in India the applicant must register with the Foreigners Registration Office.

Business

A Business Visa is granted to an applicant who can demonstrate that the purpose of his or her trip to India is for business. Example of business activities include: making sales visits or establishing contacts on behalf of a company outside of India. Business Visas can be issued for multiple entries; however the maximum duration of each stay is six months only.

Study

A Student Visa is granted to applicants who can demonstrate they are bona fide students and are attending regular studies at a recognized institution in India. The visa is valid for the duration of approved time by the educational institution in India.

Visit/Family/Marriage

A Tourism Visa is granted to applicants who are traveling to India for tourism. U.S. citizens can apply for a ten year visa under the bilateral arrangement with India.
