U.S. Visas: O-2

An O-2 visa is used for individual that accompany and assist an O-1 visa holder in a specific athletic/artistic event or in the motion picture industry. An O-2 visa is not available for individuals intending to accompany or assist O-1 visa holders in education, science or business.

What Are The Requirements For An O-2 Visa?

VISANOW can prepare and submit the O-2 visa petition if the O-2 Beneficiary is presently in the U.S. in valid status or if the Beneficiary is outside the U.S.

To be eligible for an O-2 visa to accompany and/or assist an O-1 visa holder in an athletic/artistic event, the individual must prove the following:

1. That he/she is an integral part of the actual performance/event
2. That he/she has critical skills and experience with the O-1 visa holders that are not of a general nature and which cannot be performed by other individuals.

O-2 visa holders that accompany O-1 visa holders in the motion picture and television industry must have skills or experience that are critical for the O-1 visa holder because of either a previous, longstanding working relationship; or, with respect to the specific production, much of the production work will be done both inside and outside of the U.S. and the continuing participation of the O-2 visa applicant is essential to the completion of the production.

How Long Is The O-2 Visa Valid?

An O-2 visa is valid for as long as the primary O-1 visa is valid.
